Qum is a province in the Central Iran and the carpets from this region are known for their finesse in weaving of intricate designs.
One usually finds overall garden designs, like this with lattice of paisley motif. The main field is in beige with green and blue paisleys, enclosed in a deep red border of curvilinear motifs.
The carpet production in Qum started only in the early part of twentieth century and yet today they are ranked amongst the best weavers.
