An unusual ivory ground carpet from the northern Caucasus mountains. The field is covered with repeating icons inspired by the famous “Memling guls”, named after the Flemish Renaissance period painter, Hans Memling. A wide red base major border surrounds the central panel and is decorated with diamond shaped devices containing fertility motifs. Two narrow sawtooth borders frame the major border.

There is a black fabric sleeve sown on the back of the carpet in case it is desired to be hung
