An extremely rare carpet from the Lorestan region of Persia. The deep indigo field is overlaid with a repeating motif on the entire field. The motif is formed with a paisley boteh capped with a birdhead on top of each paisley. Every individual motif is formed with a different set of colours. Three borders surround the central panel. The major border contains barberpole diagonal stripes, and each of the two flanking minor borders contains abstract scrolling vines. Outstanding shiny silky wool.

There is a black fabric sleeve sown on the back of the carpet in case it is desired to be hung
