Saffronart presents Shibu Natesan: Plein Air Views of India and London, an exhibition on display at our gallery in Mumbai and Grosvenor Gallery, London. The collection features a series of plein air watercolour landscape paintings, evocative of the Barbizon school, which capture scenes across India and London. Whether it's a beach in Varkala, in the artist's home state of Kerala, or London's Clissold Park, Natesan conjours vignettes that are at once multi-layered as well as personally symbolic and mysterious. The works have their own spatial distinctions, thus exceeding as well as defining their geographical points of origin.
