MANGALDAS FAMILY COLLECTION

In the 1920s, educationist Leenaben Sarabhai Mangaldas commissioned Oomersi Mawji, Baroda to create a series of silverware that were crafted to her own designs. This series of O M works, which includes the silver leaf bowl displayed in the present lot, features not only the well-known O M maker's mark, but also includes Mangaldas' first name in devnagari etched in the centre. These pieces have been preserved in the Mangaldas Family Collection for years, along with heritage textiles, antique books, and other heirlooms.
