The Shringar of Shrinathji is an elaborate process with deep spiritual meaning. This is a representation of the self?adornment carried out at dawn. His crown is stylised with peacock flowers and the ear lobes are decorated with kundalas (earrings) that have designs of beautiful peacocks. His braid, or choti, swings down and ends with a tassel, giving a playful appearance befitting the mischievous subject. In the lower half, a pot filled with water symbolizes the Yamuna River, and the mouth of the pot is covered with a red cloth denoting a saree for the river goddess. Though Shrinathji is seen as a small, yet central figure in larger narrative Pichwais, mono representations of this scale are rare to come by. The light, soothing and refined colour tone combined with the large format give the work its vibrant aura.
