Goud is known for his bold display of eroticism in his re-interpretation of Indian folklore. His works display a powerful rawness and unsettling allure. Goud's sensibility stems from his modernist interpretation of rusticness and sexuality-very often brash, yet laced with humour. The artist deftly shows his simultaneous involvement with and detachment from his subjects through his rendering of lines, angling of subjects and use of colour.

The work titled "Man", 2002 and shows a profile of the seated subject. Speaking of an element of incompleteness in his side-angle portraits, Marta Jakimowicz says: - It is the close, attuned, often side angle of view that imbues the scenes with an intuition of individual presence without yet becoming a portrait. While this work is devoid of the brash lustfulness that is characteristic of many of his works, the open mouth is suggestive of eagerness-the motive remains obscure, perhaps lending an incompleteness to the work.
