The present lot is a rare, figurative work by S H Raza, who mainly explored Cubism and abstraction rooted in spirituality and nature. During his formative years, like most of his peers, Raza painted in the realistic mode. He had moved to Bombay in 1943 to enroll at the Sir J J School of Art, and the sights and sounds of the city inspired him.
