A subject seen across early civilizations in Greece, Syria, Egypt etc. from the 6th century BCE onwards. This figure has well defined horns and diamond shaped eyes. It is symbolic of animal art produced in the Shunga Dynasty. Other examples can be seen in the Archaeological Museum, Calcutta, the Indian Museum, Calcutta and the Allahabad Museum, Prayagraj.
