He transitioned to working with bronze in the late 1980s-90s, as seen in the present lot, where he braises different parts together in the form of a sculptural collage.

The range of materials he uses today has widened to include wood, leather, bones, hair, nests and hives, things that have been outgrown or discarded, having aged or lost their value in the quest for novelty. He turns loss into advantage by creating a theatre where these things are reinstated, thereby showing how they can encompass a space that far exceeds their immediate limits just by putting the spotlight on their relationship to their surroundings.
