Born in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, Jagannath Panda completed his Bachelor’s degree in sculpture at the B. K. College of Arts and Crafts there in 1991,and his Master’s degree in the same at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University, Baroda in 1994. Iron, jute, rope, cloth, glue, paper, fabric border and electric insulation tape
Height: 41 in (104 cm)
Width: 133 in (338 cm)
Depth: 85 in (216 cm)

This work comprises of the following parts
a) The main body of the spider which is made of iron welded together. This has then been covered with layers of newspaper and fabric and finished with brocade and velvet.
b) The eight legs of the spider with are made of iron welded together. These have then been covered with Jute rope and finished with brocade and electric insulation tape.

The legs of the spider are attached to the main body using nuts and bolts.
