The present lot, from 2012, is from a series of works titled Somnium Genero, executed from 2005 onwards. It is subversive in its use of day-glo colours while carrying a tongue-in-cheek humour through its imagery. Everyday objects have been taken and rearranged to form recognisable motifs, floating without context to time in a dreamlike limbo. Taking a jibe at the fetishisation of consumerism, these motifs appear as jeering faces, eliciting laughter from the viewer.
