Vikram Bawa, was born in New Delhi in 1970. He studied mathematics and law in Mumbai and ran a chemical factory before turning to photography. As a commercial photographer, he has worked on campaigns for a range of worldwide clients in jewellery, fashion, hospitality, health, beauty, and consumer goods. His work is imbued with a passion and zest to
uncover the wonders of life.
Bawa’s art has been included in group shows at the Jindal Art Foundation,
Mumbai, 2009; the Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2009; Gallery Art & Soul, Mumbai, 2010; and A.M. Art Gallery, Brighton, UK, 2011. His photography was featured in several Indian group exhibitions, including
AIPA, Mumbai, 2003; Fine Art Show, Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2006; Olive, Mumbai, 2006; and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2007; as well as a solo show at Athena, Mumbai, 2004. His work is also in the permanent collections of the Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai; Gallery Art and Soul,
Mumbai; Jindal Art Foundation, Mumbai; and the Alfaz Miller collection, Mumbai. His many awards include 3rd place at the PX3 Awards, Paris, 2009; Most Influential People in the Photography Industry, Asian Photography Awards, INDIA, 2009 - 2010 and 2010 – 2011; 200 Best Advertising Photographers Worldwide by Lurzer’s Archive International, Germany, 2010 – 2011; and 1st prize, Best Color Nude photo, The Masters Cup Color Photography Awards, UK, 2010-2011. Bawa lives and works in Mumbai.
