- - “This again refers to the 1930s in Lahore. Mahant Ram was our old faithful from whom we gathered all kinds of information. He would take us out to Golbagh in the evenings. Once we saw a man perched in a tree hidden by the foliage. There was a posse of policemen below the tree and appeared to be looking out for someone. When I asked Mahant Ram about the man in the tree, he beckoned me to be quiet and then calmly added in a whisper that what I saw
