20th century
Saurashtra and Kutch, Gujarat

Ogania ear pendants are typically worn at weddings by male and female members of the Rabari, Bharvad and Rajput communities in Saurashtra and Kutch, Gujarat, and frequently paired with conical 'bhungri' ear clips. 'Ogania' are decorated with gold filigree, granules and platelets, and their crescent shape "...can be traced back to the collar-shaped and lunula-type earrings of ancient Asia Minor" (Waltraud Ganguly, Earring: Ornamental Identity and Beauty in India, B.R. Publishing Corporation, New Delhi, 2007, p. 73).
