This is a traditional shawl worn by the women of Kashmir, it folded into a triangular shape and draped over the shoulders.The bright yellow of the shawl is contrasted by the green and red used in the embroidery. The design of flowing vines, paisleys and other floral motifs is created by using repeats in each of its four quadrants.
