A traditional South Indian `jada nagam`, `choti` or braid ornament, intended to be attached to a braid, designed as a flexible, tapered openwork plaque, kundan-set with table-cut `polki` diamonds and ruby and emerald cabohons, with a seed pearl and ruby bead border, suspended from a similarly set plaque in the form of a stylized cobra, the reverse engraved and ornamented in gold, and suspendeding three tassels, each with a cap and rondelle kundan-set with ruby and emerald cabochons, mounted in 22 K gold
