This matching pair of 19th century filigreed silver Islamic talismanic discs (also known as kavari) belong to the Bugis people settled in the south Sulawesi island in Indonesia. The discs were typically worn by young Bugis girls, where one kavari disc would be placed on her chest while the matching one would fall on her back.
