In the bhuta tradition, Maisandaya is a deity in the form of a bull, who is indigenous to the Tulu regions of Karnataka and Kerala. He is frequently worshipped by agrarian communities. Maisandaya's four legs represent purity, compassion, truth and generosity, and he is linked to Nandi, Shiva's mount. Maisandaya is believed to be voiceless.
