The Fabrik Photographischer Apparate or "Photographic Reproducing Apparatus" was once used to enlarge or print film negatives by using artificial light sources. Along with a rolling side compartment, this wood cabinet comprises a drying space with three switches for adjusting heat and exposure levels-Hauptzheizung (Main Heating), Hauptschalter (Main Switch) and Zusatzheizhung (Additional Heating).

This portable darkroom was invented by Ferdinand Homrich & Sohn of Hamburg-Altona, Germany, who created similar apparatuses in wood crafted boxes of various sizes in the 1930s.
