        Johnston and Hoffman, Souvenir of the Royal Visit to Calcutta Presented by Maharaj-Kumar Sir Prodyot Coomar Tagore , Calcutta: Tagore Castle, January 1906 12 mounted platinum print photographs by Johnston & Hoffmann and a lithographic title page, all mounted on rectos of stiff card leaves, with printed captions and credits at the foot; images measuring 18 x 31 cm or similar, except for three smaller ones (approximately 10 x 15 cm); contemporary morocco gilt with gilt text at the spine; all edges gilt 29.2 x 43 x 2.5 cm Author-signed presentation inscription to the title in honour of Mr. R.T. Greer. The lettering from "Souvenir of the Royal Visit to Calcutta Presented by Maharaj-Kumar Sir Prodyot Coomar Tagore to" is printed on the album title page; the dedication is hand-written in ink. Inscribed "The Honourable Mr / R.T.Greer / With my kindest regards / Prodyot C. Tagore" on the title-page. Mr. R.T. Greer was the Deputy Commissioner of Darjeeling. Johnston & Hoffmann's photographic documentation of the visit of Mary and the Prince of Wales (later George V) to Calcutta includes images of the illuminations, races, public entertainment, and the presentation of colours to the 1st Bn.
