The objective of this captivating work is to depict the daily life of Indians during the mid-19th century, encompassing the market, mill, temple, and town. The 22 lithographic plates visually depict people, locations, and activities, while a detailed narrative endeavours to elucidate the plates and the rituals and habits of the individuals for whom the illustrations were created.
