Saraband is a region in West of Perisa and has a fairly young carpet weaving tradition that goes back to two centuries.
The carpets from this region mostly have an overall pattern of tear drop or 'botehs'.This is a typical design of a carpet from Saraband; the boteh change direction in alternate rows creating a gridlock, the corners have 2 small floral motifs. The main field is a deep blue while the boteh's are in red.It has five individual strips that combine to form the border, however it the central one, with the creamish white color or Shekari which means sugar, the term is also associated with the motif and such borders are typical of Saraband.

Please note that there will be import restrictions on this Lot in the USA, UK, and Brazil. Potential buyers are advised to check import regulations to their country prior to making a bid decision.
