ROYAL KURK KASHAN CARPET - PERSIAN

The royal carpet workshops were set in Kashan, producing some of the finest examples of caprets of the Persian world. ashan is located south of Tehran and the carpets designs are mostly of floral and curvilinear patterns.
The wool used in this carpet is Kurk; it is the finest quality of wool, shorn from the lambs chest and shoulders giving the carpet a luxuriant feel. The intricacy of the design combined with the superior quality of Kurk wool sets this carpet apart from any other of its kind. The coloring is a combination of deep blue and maroon and the intricacy of design continues in the forms of vines and stylized flowers.
