LAVER KIRMAN, TREE OF LIFE - PERSIAN

Circa 1915
Approx. 7ft 2in x 4ft 5in (219.4 x 137.1 cms)
wool pile on cotton foundation, natural dye

Set in blue ground, arabesque arches frame a profusion of flora and fauna in intricate colors, which is a defining aspect of these rugs. Rugs from Laver Kerman are known for the delicacy of design and pattern.
This is a most unusual piece because there is a dog sitting under the magnificent tree, a very unique inclusion in such designs. The Tree of Life is an ancient symbol found across civilizations and is conceived as a symbol for sustenance of all life form; its roots reaching deep down into earth and its branches spreading across and out to the skies above.

Please note that there will be import restrictions on this Lot in the USA, UK, and Brazil. Potential buyers are advised to check import regulations to their country prior to making a bid decision.
