"This painting is from a series called `Futility of Device`. I did this series after the demolition of the Babri masjid. It represents my search for the history of India, for our historical past. It is a huge painting and derives from a feudal history. The atmosphere in these paintings is reproduction of the atmosphere in photographs of the archeological remains in India, which is heightened by the use of metallic paint on canvas.
