An exceptionally rare find, produced in very small numbers in the 1940s and 1950s. This watch was designed exclusively for the French, Spanish and English speaking markets. In the history of Rolex,they have produced only two models of moon phase watches, Ref. 6062 and Ref. 8171

A unusual oversize mens stainless steel wristwatch, ref. 8171, 18 jewel automatic movement, adjusted to 5 positions and temps, matte silver dial with gold arrowhead and pyramidal markers, gold leaf-shaped hands, apertures for the day, month and phases of the moon, and outer track indicating the date, attached to a black crocodile strap with a signed buckle, c. 1952, 39 mm dia
