A HUNTER’S FAREWELL: JIM CORBETT’S SIGNED COPY OF MY INDIA, 1952

An exceptionally scarce signed copy of Corbett’s fifth book, My India, a deeply personal reflection on his life in the Kumaon hills, written after the success of Man-Eaters of Kumaon. Corbett’s humane and respectful portrayals of rural Indian life, his conservationist voice, and his anti-colonial empathy mark this volume as a unique testament to his legacy. The present copy was signed in Nyeri, Kenya, where Corbett had retired and later died.

Signed copies of My India are uncommon, and those dated in Corbett’s hand from Nyeri—his final place of residence—are particularly desirable among collectors of Indian natural history.
