The Parisian merchants or marchands-merciers were able to access the porcelain guild restrictions. The process of gilding bronze was expensive and laborious. During Louis XV period, Lazare Duvaux was a specialist in mounting Chinese porcelain in bronze. His work combined the color of the porcelain with the brilliance of the bronze and the delicacy of European flowers
