Formerly in an English Collection
Sridevi and Bhudevi are the consorts of Vishnu. Sridevi is said to be the bestower of prosperity and wealth. In this miniature figure she is shown holding a lotus bud in her left hand. She wears large cylindrical earrings, her posture is that of ease with one knee slightly bent. The jewellery is clearly defined and the facial features are sweet with a benign smile.
