This sculpture is attached to a wooden base measuring 4.5 x 2.5 x 2.25 in (11.5 x 6.5 x 5.7 cm)
A typical example of Gandharan art, this sculpture shows Buddha with his wavy locks of hair curled upwards ending in a protuberance above his head. The facial expression exhibits a confident faint smile. Despite of the natural ageing, the sculpture still has its features well-defined. The muted look of grey schist adds to the beauty of this Greco-Buddhist sculpture.
