The book is a monograph on the life and work of the Indian artist Hemendranath Majumdar (1894-1948), who was a prominent figure in the Bengal School of Art and is in continuation to the unprecedented appreciation of the two previous volumes.

Majumdar's work was notable for its blending of traditional Indian techniques with Western academic styles, and he was considered one of the leading painters of his time. In "Art of Mr. H Majumdar," C P Ray provides a detailed analysis of Majumdar's artistic development, his influences and techniques, and his contributions to the Bengal School of Art. The book includes 11 plates of Majumdar's paintings, as well as a detailed description of these plates in English and Bengali at the end.
