Adair, Dutt & Co. was founded over a century ago, in order to represent European laboratory and medical equipment manufacturers in India. While the company was originally incorporated in England, the Indian arm emerged as a freehold company in 1949, following India’s independence.

This apothecary cabinet, made in Germany, bears a plaque with the engraving "Adair, Dutt & Co., Ltd. London, Calcutta, Bombay, Madras". Made of iron, brass, glass and mirror, this vintage cabinet stands atop four casters and was once used for storing pharmaceutical products.
