Charles Stewart Hardinge, Recollections of India: Drawn on the Stone by J D Harding from the Original Drawings by the Honourable Charles Stewart Hardinge, Part I: British India and the Punjab. Part II Kashmir and the Alpine Punjab, London: Thomas M’Lean, 1847

The book is divided into two parts:
Part I titled "British India and the Punjab" containing 13 tinted lithographs along with descriptive text for each plate.
Part II titled "Kashmir and the Alpine Punjab" containing 13 tinted lithographs along with descriptive text for each plate.

The plates are mostly landscapes, but also include portraits of the Maharajah Dulip Singh, Rajah Lal Sing, Gulab Singh, and Sheik Imam-ud-Din Runjur Singh. The works were drawn on stone by J D Harding, from the original drawings, by the Honourable Charles Stewart Hardinge.

Hardinge was present in India in 1845 when the Sikh army crossed the Sutlej and invaded British territory. He served as private secretary to his father, Sir Henry Hardinge, first Viscount of Lahore, who was Governor-General of India at the time.
