Gaganendranath Tagore was Rathindranath's cousin, and a self-taught artist, caricaturist and actor. His art focussed on Bengal and stemmed from his observations of its natural vistas and cultural ethos. His watercolours ranged from paintings of Bengal and the Himalayas, to his famous Chaitanya series centred around the 16th century ascetic.
