BAKHTIAR CARPET - PERSIAN

Approx. 6ft 6in x 4ft 6in (198.1 x 137.2 cms)

Medallion layout flanked by niches on all its corners this is a fine example of Bakhtiar carpet from Iran.
It is covered in dense arabesque of fleurons, vines in rich hues of red, green and brown.
Bakhtiar is a village south west of Isfahan in central Iran and the carpets from this region are known for their symmetrical designs and layouts and dark color tones.
