Photographer Vivek Desai is known for his visually appealing works. Inspired by Raghu Rai, Kishor Parekh and Jyoti Bhatt, Desai’s work spans the gamut from a socio-cultural documentation of Kachchh to an in depth exploration of the life of Digambar sadhus. Desai is known for his immersive method of photographing his subjects, often joining their ranks and travelling with them for long periods of time.
Desai’s work has been exhibited across the world and has garnered a number of national and international awards. He has contributed to several books such as Jyoti Bhatt’s monograph Parallels that Meet: Paintings, Prints, Photographs and Golden Glimpses... Gujarat 1960 - 2010: A Nostalgic Photo-journey as a photo editor. Desai has also published three monographs titled Banaras: A City of Shiva, Ahmedabad: A City of Paradoxes, and Kachchh-Kaleidoscope.
