He completed his BFA in Painting from the Government College of Arts and Craft, in 1990, and his MFA in Painting from the Benares Hindu University, in 1993. He has exhibited widely in India and around Asia. His recent solo shows include Gallery SKE’s “How Long does it take to Complete a Circle?” which was held in 2011; "It Doesn't Bite" at Gallery SKE, Bangalore, in 2007; "Assemblages" at Art Heritage, New Delhi, in 1998, and "Recent Works" at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, in 1992. His most recent group show, “Making History”, featured at the Colombo Art Biennale 2014, and his other shows include “50 Years of Contemporary Art”, “Aesthetic Bind – Phantomata”, both at Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai, in 2013 – 14; “Project: Layout-4” curated by Akansha Rastogi, Deeksha Nath and Vidya Shivdas, and “Zones of Contact” curated by Akansha Rastogi, Deeksha Nath and Vidya Shivadas at the Kiran Nadar Musum of Art, New Delhi, “In Sarai Reader 9” at the Devi Art Foundation, Gurgaon, in 2013; “Layout” and “Layout-2”, two location-based collaborative constructions by four artists and an architect, the former supported by Prohelvetia, New Delhi, and the latter by the Kochi Biennale Committee and Prohelvetia, New Delhi, in 2012; “Fragility” at Art Alive Gallery, Gurgaon, in 2011; “Astonishment of Being” at the Birla Academy of Arts and Culture, Kolkata, in 2009; "Still Moving Images" at Devi Art Foundation, Gurgaon, in 2008, among any others. In the same year, he participated in the 3rd Nanjing Triennial, "Reflective Asia", in Nanjing, China. He has been a part of four national exhibitions, all held by the Lalit Kala Akademi between 1997 – 2006. He received two awards in 1990 and 2000, and has been part of artist residencies in India and abroad. In 2009, the Guggenheim Museum in New York acquired his installation “Caged Sacks” (2007–08), and his works are part of collections at Devi Art Foundation, New Delhi, and numerous private collections in India and abroad. The artist lives and works in New Delhi.
