The city of Banaras constitutes an integral influence on Rana’s art. Deeply moved by the traditional and modern coexisting in the same sphere, Rana’s art also combines varying ideas of abstraction and figurative. Deft, strong strokes and shading combined with vibrant colours renders energy to Rana’s art which is imbibed with swift movement. Using recognizable forms and turning to abstraction through them lies at the centre of Rana’s art practice.
