Kavita Deuskar was born in Hyderabad. Presently, she heads the Department of Painting at the JNTU College of Fine Arts in Hyderabad. She is the recipient of several awards, including the A.P. Lalit Kala Academy Award, which she received in 1972. Her works are on display at a number of galleries in India, including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad.
