This statement itself says alot about this artist. Born in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Jitendra Singh Baoni came to study painting in Baroda in 1990 and has been based in the city ever since. His diploma in painting was followed by a post diploma in graphics from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.U, Baroda the artist set upon his artistic voyage..the journey of his dreams. Drawing from responses and emotions evoked from his surroundings and life, Jitendra Singh Baoni has used several media as a platform for his creativity, oils and charcoal drawings, lithographs, etching and glass paintings. Strong and subtle lines are characteristic of this artists work. His creative growth is parallel with that of his personal life. Various phases of his life , that of a bachelor , of a husband and that of a father have added to the artists perspective of life and this can be seen in his works.
The artist has showed in several solo and group shows in the country ever since 1991. Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Jehangir Art Gallery, Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai, are among some of the galleries where Jitendra Singh Baoni has showed. In 1992, he also participated in the National Exhibiton, Lalit kala Academy, Delhi. He has also participated in AIFACS Exhibition, Delhi in 1991, National Exhibition of Art, Chitra Kala Parishad, Bangalore in 1992, and was an invitee artist for the Harmony Show in 1998 and 2000. The artist has been a part of several workshops held in Delhi, Baroda. He has also participated in the Visual Art Project for Sahmat in 1997. His works are among several collections in the country and abroad.
