Gariba Singh Tekam

Gariba Singh Tekam was born into a family of Gond artists, and was encouraged to paint by the pioneering artist Jangarh Singh Shyam, who appreciated Tekam’s mastery of form and colour. Tekam resides in Bhopal, where he works at the Museum of Mankind alongside his wife Prem Bai. He paints figures from the Gond pantheon, such as Babadev, Ghurri Dev, and the Saja tree.
