Chirodeep Chaudhuri was born in 1972, and received his postgraduate diploma in journalism from the Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai. Chirodeep Chaudhuri was born in 1972, and received his postgraduate diploma in journalism from the Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai. After his graduation, Chaudhuri joined Univads as a trainee visualiser, where he was later promoted to the post of art director. He has worked with various magazines over the course of his career as a photographer, including as the picture-editor for the Mumbai edition of the arts and entertainment magazine Time Out, and the web portal Traveljini. He was the senior photographer with Intelligent Investor and The Sunday Observer, and also worked as a junior sub-editor and photographer for The Bombay Tribune.
Chaudhuri’s solo shows include 'The Commuters' at the Curator’s Gallery of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly the Prince of Wales Museum), Mumbai, in 2012; 'One-Rupee Entrepreneur' at Project 88, Mumbai, in 2007; and 'Portfolio' and 'Bombay Clocks' at the David Sassoon Library, Mumbai, in 2002 and 1999 respectively. Chaudhuri’s group exhibitions include 'Transience' at the Fourth Floor Gallery, Mumbai, in 2006; 'We Are Not Like That Only' curated by Turmeric Earth at Fundacao Oriente, Panaji, in 2003; and 'Grief in Gujarat', organized by the Bombay News-Photographers Association and the Press Club, Mumbai, in 2001. Chaudhuri has also participated in some international shows which include 'Gateway Bombay' at the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, in 2007-08, and the Pingyao International Photography Festival, China, in 2004.
