Chandrakala Devi is the wife of late Dhaniklal Mukhia from Chakdah village in Madhubani district of Bihar. About sixty years of age, Chandrakala Devi is originally from Ranti village and she learnt Madhubani art from watching the elder women and prominent artists from there like Mahasundari Devi, and Godavri Dutt.
