Art, no less than any other human activity, is the meeting of the body with what lies beyond it. OUTSIDE is a group exhibition exploring ways in which artists engage with the world. Through a variety of modes, including humour, parody, and technical virtuosity, the artists in this exhibition attend to this central concern from a number of different positions. Many of the works acknowledge the fact that our perception of what is ‘outside’ is mediated by the people we are and the bodies we inhabit.
