SAFFRONART.COM, an Indian website showcasing the finest in Indian contemporary art, has been holding their online auction of over 130 works of art by leading Indian artists. The works comprise a range of paintings from the old masters like Raja Ravi Varma and Tagore to the progressives like K H Ara, F N Souza and M F Husian. It also includes contemporary artists like Arpana Caur, Rekha Rodwittiya and Baiju Parthan. The concept is simple enough: browsers can bid 24 hours a day and the highest bidder gets to add something fantastic to her art collection. The online auction began on November 24 and concludes today.
