ISFAHAN, TREE OF LIFE - CENTRAL PERSIA

Circa 1920s
Approx. 6ft 1in x 4ft 5in (185.4 x 134.6 cms)

Isfahan is a city in Iran that has many beautiful architectural structures and the carpets from here are infused with a sense of rhythm found in symmetry.

This carpet like most from Isfahan has an ivory background on which is fore grounded a tree of life, this time represented by a cypress tree flanked by a tree with arabesque vines and flowers on either side.An endearing feature is a narrow band of blue indicative of a river at the base. The panorama is inset by spandrels on either side in a deep maroon, the same color carries on in the dense floral border.

Please note that there will be import restrictions on this Lot in the USA, UK, and Brazil. Potential Buyers are advised to check import regulations to their country prior to making a bid decision.
