Born in 1964, Mustak Khan Chowdhury obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan under the guidance of Sri KG Subramaniam.

He has been part of several group exhibitions: Annual Exhibition held by Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata in 1986 and 1987, All India Exhibition at Lalit Kala Academy, Patna in 1987, Birla Academy of Fine Arts in 1986, 1987 and 1988, All India Exhibition on the occasion of Jamini Roy Centenary Celebration in Kolkata in 1998, Contemporary Indian Artists at Gallery 88, Kolkata in 1993, Exhibition of paintings by MF Hussain and several contemporary Indian artists presented by Emirates Bank International Limited and Gallery Espace in Dubai in 1993, Group Exhibition of Young Artists of Madhya Pradesh at Art Indus in 1997 and 1998, Group Exhibition with MF Hussain and several contemporary artists on Drawings and Paintings at CIMA Art Gallery, Kolkata in 2001 and Group exhibition at Right Lines Gallery, Bangalore in 2004. He also participated in an Art Camp for Gujarat Relief Fund in 2001 at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
