- - During the sixties through to the eighties, Ribeiro was experimenting with abstract paintings. These gentle harmonious paintings of what appear to be geological strata with lines meandering on curving courses with no apparent purpose. They look like landscapes seen from an aeroplane, indeed Ribeiro wrote about the visual beauty of the changing landscape arriving in Goa from Bombay by air.
