ARTWORK DETAILS

  • A TEA AND COFFEE SET
  • This five piece set has a tea and coffee kettle, milk and sugar pot with a waste bowl. The coffee kettle is elongated like an Oriental surai, (a water or drink dispenser) while the tea kettle is squat which creates an interesting fusion of forms. All the five pieces have the stylized petal fluting at the base and on the lid while the main body of the pots is left bare. There is a makers mark 'The Duhme Co.' and is hallmark stamping for sterling silver. The Duhme Company was started in 1840's by Herman Duhme in Cincinnati Ohio.
